Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir tempo build commanded by Alela, Cunning Conqueror. The strategy revolves around passing the turn with untapped mana, then casting efficient instants and flash creatures on opponents' turns to trigger Alela's token-generation ability. As the swarm of 1/1 flying Faeries expands, connected combat attacks trigger Alela's second ability to goad threatening enemy creatures, directing damage away from you and forcing opponents to batter each other. Card advantage engines such as Bident of Thassa, Nymris, Oona's Trickster, and Voracious Tome-Skimmer refill your hand each round, ensuring a continuous stream of counterspells and removal. While vulnerable to resolved mass sweepers due to its reliance on creature tokens over multiple combat steps, the deck maintains high agency through versatile interaction, flash threats, and steady aerial pressure.
