Deck overview

This Esper deck leverages the Partner pairing of Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker and Falthis, Shadowcat Familiar to execute a combat-focused Voltron and flying tempo strategy. Ishai grows automatically whenever opponents cast spells, while Falthis grants menace and deathtouch, making Ishai nearly impossible to block profitably. The deck uses a dense suite of low-cost mana rocks to deploy Ishai on Turn 3 and Falthis on Turn 4. By Turn 5, Ishai becomes a massive aerial threat capable of eliminating opponents across consecutive turns. A robust package of counterspells, targeted removal, and ward-granting creatures shields Ishai from opposing interaction, while pillowfort enchantments like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda deter retaliatory combat damage. If Ishai is removed or suppressed, standalone flying powerhouses such as Sunscorch Regent and Maha, Its Feathers Night maintain lethal pressure.
