Deck overview

Marneus Calgar is an Esper token-advantage commander whose draw trigger turns every token-creation event into a card. The deck leans into this with a dense token package - Bitterblossom, Black Market Connections, Smothering Tithe, squad creatures, and planeswalker token makers - while Anointed Procession, Mondrak, Glory Dominus, and Elspeth, Storm Slayer multiply the army. It wins primarily through a wide, anthem-driven combat kill with For the Emperor!, Company Commander, and Thunderhawk Gunship, but it also carries a compact infinite line: Marneus Calgar + Nadir Kraken + Ashnod's Altar draws the deck, makes infinite mana and tokens, and finishes through Sanguinary Priest or Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim. A flexible control shell of six counterspells, removal, and protection keeps the engine alive through disruption.
