Commander: Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher is a five-mana recursion engine, not a fast commander finisher. The deck makes Vampire tokens and sacrifice fodder, grows Carmen with every sacrifice, then attacks to return a small permanent card each turn. Braids, Arisen Nightmare and other sacrifice outlets keep that loop sustainable. Secondary wins are Vampire beatdown with anthems, aristocratic drain from Blood Artist effects, and a compact life-gain/life-loss loop: Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror paired with Vito or Sanguine Bond. Once a lifelink attack seeds the loop, it drains the table. In the 99, Edgar, Charmed Groom acts as a hidden secondary commander; its front is an anthem and its back replaces tokens.
