Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius toughness-matters strategy commanded by Plagon, Lord of the Beach. The primary plan fills the early battlefield with cheap, high-toughness creatures like Aegis Turtle, Shorecomber Crab, and Caelorna, Coral Tyrant. On Turn 4, Plagon enters the battlefield to draw a burst of cards scaling with the team's high toughness. The deck then blinks Plagon with spells like Ghostly Flicker and Momentary Blink to refill the hand repeatedly. It converts these defensive stats into offensive firepower using High Alert, Plagon's activated ability, and unblockability enablers like Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive. Asymmetric sweepers like Fell the Mighty clear opposing boards while leaving low-power high-toughness defenders untouched, paving the way for lethal combat damage.
