Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck executes a Mardu Aikido and political control strategy designed to turn opponents' aggression and resources against them. By introducing the Monarch on Turn 4, the deck establishes consistent card flow and rattlesnake deathtouch defense. A dense suite of low-cost mana rocks accelerates development into potent goad and forced-combat engines like Karazikar, the Eye Tyrant, Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser, and Taunt from the Rampart. The deck's primary operational backbone is Sunforger, tutorable via Cloud, Midgar Mercenary. Sunforger provides instant-speed access to a massive toolbox of removal, stack interaction, and format-defining defensive shields like Teferi's Protection and Boros Charm. Instead of racing to assemble fragile combos, the deck controls the flow of combat, incentivizes opponents to eliminate each other, and closes the game on Turn 8 through unblocked counter-attacks, Inkshield flying swarms, or explosive damage-reflection spells like Deflecting Palm and Brash Taunter.
