Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Zombie tribal aristocrats build helmed by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The primary strategy focuses on establishing early Zombie board presence, sacrificing creatures for continuous card advantage, and draining opponents through repeated death triggers and combat damage. Wilhelt anchors the engine by replacing dying nontoken Zombies with decayed tokens, providing endless sacrifice fodder for value and draw triggers. In the midgame, high-impact payoffs such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Necroduality, and Grave Titan scale board pressure rapidly, while lords like Death Baron and Geralf, Visionary Stitcher grant evasion and deathtouch to push through blockers. The deck also harbors potent combo potential through Poppet Stitcher transforming into Poppet Factory, which removes decayed from tokens to enable infinite sacrifice loops with Wilhelt and a sacrifice outlet like Carrion Feeder. Backed by targeted countermagic and asymmetric board suppression, the deck grinds down the table through relentless attrition and explosive life drain.
