Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Aristocrats and Attrition Control engine led by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on grinding down opposing life totals and resource bases using an extensive suite of sacrifice outlets, recurring creatures, and life-draining death triggers. Early turns establish evasive shadow attackers and mana rocks, smoothly transitioning into mid-game board control through eight sweepers, targeted land destruction, and continuous sacrifice engines. While Avacyn, Angel of Horror offers formidable top-end insurance by returning all dying nontoken creatures at each end step, the deck functions entirely independently of its commander.
