Format: Commander

Commander: Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait leads a Simic landfall deck that ramps into huge sea monsters and token armies. The commander supplies extra land drops and a card-draw trigger on every landfall, letting the deck churn through its library while developing up to two lands per turn. Secondary paths include a landfall token explosion from Scute Swarm or Rampaging Baloths and a clunky infinite-landfall loop with Retreat to Coralhelm. The deck has a high average mana value, so its success hinges on protecting Aesi and resolving early ramp. With no efficient tutors, it depends on natural draw, but the engine can bury opponents in card advantage once online.
