Deck overview

This Dimir reanimator deck uses Mirko, Obsessive Theorist to turn surveil triggers into counter growth and repeatable end-step reanimation. In the early game, cheap ramp and surveil cantrips curate draws while stocking the graveyard with high-impact creatures and 0-power clones like Body Double and Phyrexian Metamorph. By Turn 4, Mirko begins recurring creatures directly to the battlefield. On Turn 5, the deck establishes critical onset by reanimating dominant threats like Toxrill, the Corrosive, Archfiend of Depravity, or Doom Whisperer. Toxrill and Archfiend systematically dismantle opposing creature boards, while Doom Whisperer allows instant-speed graveyard dumping and rapid power scaling on Mirko. Supporting counter-removal engines like Power Conduit and Soul Diviner strip finality counters, allowing key creatures to return repeatedly. The deck closes the game on Turn 8 through overwhelming aerial combat damage and board control.
