Deck overview

This Grixis deck is led by Fire Lord Azula, a commander that merges combat aggression with spellslinger value. By attacking, Azula generates two red mana via Firebending 2 and duplicates any spell cast while she is attacking. The deck leverages this trigger to double the impact of combat tricks like Bulk Up, burn removal like The Last Agni Kai, and draw spells like Prismari Command. Supported by Magecraft enablers like Archmage Emeritus and Veyran, Voice of Duality, the deck builds steady card advantage while threatening lethal commander damage. In games where Azula is contested, standalone powerhouses like Ozai, the Phoenix King, Etali, Primal Storm, and The Rise of Sozin offer robust alternate paths to victory.
