Deck overview

This Sultai deck is commanded by Zaxara, the Exemplary, functioning as a mana-accelerating engine and threat-doubler for {X}-cost spells and +1/+1 counter synergies. The primary strategy accelerates early with two-mana ramp to deploy Zaxara on Turn 3, unlocking six or more mana on Turn 4 to cast impactful X-spells that generate both their primary effect and a scaling Hydra token. As the board develops, counter multipliers such as Branching Evolution, Doubling Season, and Kalonian Hydra turn modest investments into massive trampling armies. Trample and evasion enablers like Garruk's Uprising and Herald of Secret Streams ensure combat damage connects directly with life totals, while Finale of Devastation and Exsanguinate offer over-the-top finishers. Additionally, Freed from the Real provides an infinite mana combo with Zaxara to close games on the spot. The deck features resilient card flow and flexible interaction, making it an explosive, high-synergy midrange powerhouse.
