Deck overview

This deck is a focused mono-black Aristocrats engine driven by 28 copies of Shadowborn Apostle and commanded by Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker. The primary strategy rapidly deploys cheap Apostles during the opening turns, assembling six copies by Turn 4 to tutor large Demons directly onto the battlefield. The primary target, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, converts remaining creatures into instant-speed universal tutors. Deploying Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker breaks parity on creature sacrifices by returning every 1-power creature to the battlefield at the beginning of each player's end step. This recurring loop continuously fuels sacrifice outlets and triggers Aristocrats drain effects such as Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Syr Konrad, the Grim, while Grave Pact suppresses opposing creature boards. Backup plans include casting Thrumming Stone to ripple every Apostle out of the deck in a single turn, providing massive redundancy and resilience against single-target disruption.
