Deck overview

This deck is a classic mono-black Zombie tribal and Aristocrats strategy helmed by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The game plan revolves around deploying resilient Zombie creatures, converting their power into swarms of 2/2 Zombie tokens via Gisa's sacrifice ability, and amplifying the board with tribal lords such as Undead Warchief, Death Baron, and Cemetery Reaper. As the undead army grows, the deck leverages aristocrat drain engines like Ayara, First of Locthwain, Bastion of Remembrance, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel to whittle down opposing life totals while generating card advantage through Undead Augur and Midnight Reaper. The deck operates primarily at sorcery speed, establishing an operational engine around Turn 6 and threatening a lethal overrun or drain finish by Turn 9. While rich in tribal redundancy and graveyard recursion, the strategy suffers from high exposure to board wipes, minimal instant-speed stack interaction, and limited protection for its commander.
