Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mardu Equipment and Knight tribal strategy commanded by Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap, efficient Knights and using equipment cost-cheating permanents like Puresteel Paladin, Sigarda's Aid, Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist, and Syr Gwyn herself to bypass expensive equip costs. Dense equipment tutoring allows the deck to search for devastating weapons such as Colossus Hammer, Kaldra Compleat, Embercleave, and Sword of Feast and Famine with high consistency. By Turn 5, the deck presents single-hit lethal threats to opponents in sequence. It protects its high-investment attackers using Lightning Greaves, Mithril Coat, Boros Charm, and Guardian of Faith, while disrupting opposing strategies with efficient removal like Swords to Plowshares and Anguished Unmaking. The deck operates smoothly even without casting its 6-mana commander.
