Deck overview

This deck uses Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor as a high-velocity card advantage engine in the command zone. It opens with an aggressive curve of cheap, evasive creatures such as Changeling Outcast, Tormented Soul, and Vault Skirge. Deploying Gix on Turn 3 converts combat damage into immediate card draw, keeping hand sizes full while applying continuous pressure to opponents. The resulting card flow reliably uncovers mana ramp and doublers, including Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Grim Hireling. In the midgame, the deck leverages its deep hand and explosive mana pool to deploy decisive finishers like Peer into the Abyss, Psychosis Crawler, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, or a massive Exsanguinate. Interaction is centered on efficient, low-cost removal spells like Deadly Rollick, Snuff Out, and Toxic Deluge, while cards like Dauthi Voidwalker and Orcish Bowmasters suppress opposing graveyard and card-draw strategies.
