Deck overview

This mono-white midrange deck centers on Lyra, Archangel of Dawn, turning consistent lifegain triggers into permanent board buffs for an army of flying Angels. The game plan starts with low-cost lifegain permanents like Ajani's Welcome, Authority of the Consuls, and Bishop of Wings. Once the commander enters the battlefield on Turn 3, every subsequent lifegain event places +1/+1 counters on all your Angels. Scaling threats like Righteous Valkyrie, Archangel of Thune, and Resplendent Angel quickly turn modest fliers into an overwhelming aerial strike force by Turn 6. Light stax pieces such as Blind Obedience blunt opposing haste and aggressive starts. While the deck boasts high internal synergy, substantial life totals, and resilient backup anthems, its reliance on combat damage and minimal instant-speed creature interaction leaves it vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers and fast spell combos.
