Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Spellslinger Control deck built around Lord of the Nazgûl. The strategy focuses on accelerating the commander onto the battlefield by Turn 4 and leveraging a dense suite of cheap instants, cantrips, and counterspells to control the game. Each instant or sorcery cast triggers the commander to create a 3/3 black Wraith creature token with menace. Continuous spellcasting across all player turns builds an overwhelming, evasive army. Clone spells such as Spark Double and Irenicus's Vile Duplication double token generation, while Nanogene Conversion can turn the entire board into token-generating commanders for an explosive turn. Once nine Wraiths are assembled, the commander turns them all into 9/9 behemoths to close out the game rapidly. Strong card draw engines like Archmage Emeritus and Wavebreak Hippocamp ensure the deck never runs out of resources.
