Meren by user2450566

Format: Commander

Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Golgari sacrifice/reanimator deck is built around Meren of Clan Nel Toth as a repeatable end-step engine. The primary plan is to accumulate experience counters with cheap sacrifice fodder, then recur a growing cast of payoff creatures every turn. Secondary paths include drain loops with Zulaport Cutthroat, Blood Artist, and Poison-Tip Archer, and an alternate token win from Grist, Voracious Larva // Grist, the Plague Swarm. The Soul Stone effectively acts as a second Meren. Meren is the commander the deck is built to use; she is not the finisher. The deck remains playable without her because Sheoldred, Whispering One, Atzal, Cave of Eternity, and Reanimate provide backup recursion, but it loses its most efficient repeatable engine.
