Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Bad Gifts and Goad control strategy commanded by Jon Irenicus, Shattered One. The game plan revolves around deploying aggressive creatures with severe drawbacks, such as Steel Golem, Grid Monitor, Rotting Regisaur, and Phyrexian Negator, and donating them to opponents. Jon Irenicus grants these gifts permanent goad, +1/+1 counters, and immunity to sacrifice effects, forcing opponents to attack each other while drawing cards for the pilot. Pillowfort cards like Propaganda, Crawlspace, and No Mercy keep the pilot safe from incoming damage as opponents whittle each other down. In the endgame, the pilot leverages card advantage and control spells to finish off the weakened survivor.
