Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul combat strategy led by Chishiro, the Shattered Blade. It focuses on the modified mechanic, leveraging +1/+1 counters, Auras, and Equipment to generate an escalating army of 2/2 red Spirit creature tokens with menace. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration through cards like Nature's Lore and Sakura-Tribe Elder before deploying Chishiro on Turn 3 or 4. Once Chishiro is in play, cheap modifications such as Rancor, Lizard Blades, and Innkeeper's Talent trigger immediate token creation and continuous end-step counter growth. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 by layering wide board buffs from Loyal Guardian, Thundering Raiju, and extra combat steps from Akki Battle Squad. Without infinite combos or fast combo tutors, the deck wins through relentless combat damage across multiple turns, supported by targeted protection spells like Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Silkguard to maintain board presence.
