Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Gorma, the Gullet to execute a fast, resilient Aristocrats combo strategy. Gorma's static ability gives entering creatures +1/+1 counters equal to the number of your creatures that died this turn. When a persist creature such as Putrid Goblin or Lesser Masticore dies, it returns with a -1/-1 counter from persist and a +1/+1 counter from Gorma. State-based actions immediately cancel both counters out, allowing you to sacrifice the persist creature infinitely to a free sacrifice outlet like Carrion Feeder or Viscera Seer. Paired with drain engines like Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat, this loop drains all three opponents from 40 to 0 in a single turn. The deck also includes an independent backup win condition in Chain of Smog and Witherbloom Apprentice. Supported by dense 2-mana acceleration, comprehensive Golgari removal, and abundant creature tutors, the deck reliably threatens a same-turn table kill on Turn 4.
