Commander: Sarulf, Realm Eater

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Golgari deck is helmed by Sarulf, Realm Eater, a unique board-control commander that gradually exiles low-mana-value permanents each upkeep. The strategy blends incremental removal, fog effects, and a sub-theme of landwalk (forestwalk/swampwalk) to push through unblockable combat damage. The primary win path is grinding out opponents via recursive value and large threats like Ashaya, Soul of the Wild, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, and Portal to Phyrexia, while Sarulf, Realm Eater itself serves as both a reusable board wipe and a growing beater. There are no infinite combos; the deck relies on attrition and evasive attacks to close games, supported by a dense suite of protection spells and fogs to survive until the mid-late turns.
