Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue combat-tempo build centered around the saboteur mechanic and mill payoffs. It deploys cheap, unblockable, or evasive creatures and stacks 'Curiosity' effects like Coastal Piracy, Bident of Thassa, and Reconnaissance Mission to draw cards whenever combat damage connects. Its commander, Fblthp, Impossibly Lost, provides a burst of two cards on combat damage before shuffling itself back into the library. The card velocity fuels mill win conditions such as Sphinx's Tutelage, Teferi's Tutelage, Cut Your Losses, and Keening Stone, alongside alternate paths like Triskaidekaphile and Strixhaven Stadium. The deck features deep card draw and resilience against commander removal, but runs virtually no reactive interaction, countermagic, or hard removal, making it vulnerable to faster proactive strategies.
