Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to turn the fundamental game action of drawing cards into an asymmetric life swing. By combining Sheoldred with forced draw effects such as Howling Mine, Master of the Feast, Seizan, Perverter of Truth, and Dark Deal, the deck bleeds opponents for substantial life while steadily inflating the pilot's life total. Secondary burn permanents like Underworld Dreams, Fate Unraveler, and Psychosis Crawler compound this attrition. The deck also includes high-end mana engines and game-ending haymakers such as Bolas's Citadel, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, Peer into the Abyss, and the infinite Exquisite Blood plus Sanguine Bond combo. While resilient in long grindy games and well-stocked with creature sweepers, the deck operates at a deliberate pace, relying on natural card draw to assemble its key payoffs while leaving its permanent-heavy board exposed over multiple turn cycles.
