Deck overview

This mono-black deck blends aristocrats sacrifice engines, reanimation packages, and oppressive asymmetric attrition. Led by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the deck can leverage its commander as a late-game recursion engine that brings back all nontoken creatures at the beginning of the next end step. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration and card draw via sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer, Warren Soultrader, and Skullclamp. In the mid-game, the deck disrupts opponents' boards using edict and death triggers from Dictate of Erebos, Massacre Wurm, Accursed Marauder, and Tergrid, God of Fright, turning opposing losses into direct resources. The deck closes games reliably around Turn 8 through repeated life-drain triggers from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Syr Konrad, the Grim, combat with reanimated flyers, or an instant-speed infinite life drain combo between Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Enduring Tenacity.
