Deck overview

This deck is a focused Grixis reanimator strategy designed to cheat game-ending creature bombs into play well ahead of curve. The game plan centers on depositing high-impact threats like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Toxrill, the Corrosive, and Drakuseth, Maw of Flames into the graveyard using direct tutors such as Entomb and Buried Alive or efficient looting spells. It then uses low-cost reanimation spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Exhume to deploy them as early as Turn 3 or 4. Once established, these creatures generate immediate asymmetric advantages by stripping opposing hands, clearing creature boards, and dealing heavy combat damage backed by Anger. While Sauron, Lord of the Rings serves as an expensive high-end payoff that recurs threats and amasses an army, the deck functions entirely independently of its commander. It provides rapid engine recovery and robust proactive attrition, closing games out through sustained combat pressure and Living Death.
