Format: Commander

Commander: The Ur-Dragon

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This five-color Dragon deck leans on The Ur-Dragon's eminence discount and attack trigger to flood the board with high-end Dragons. The primary plan is to ramp into a critical mass of Dragons, use the commander's attack trigger to draw and cheat permanents into play, then close with overwhelming combat damage. Secondary paths include the Ancient Copper Dragon/Old Gnawbone treasure engine with Aggravated Assault or Hellkite Charger for infinite combats, and Call the Spirit Dragons as an alternate win condition. The deck is built to use The Ur-Dragon's eminence and attack trigger; the front face is the primary commander, with no meaningful back face. Nicol Bolas, the Ravager // Nicol Bolas, the Arisen is a hidden commander of sorts, offering a planeswalker transformation that draws cards and removes threats, but it is not the deck's focus.
