Deck overview

This deck leverages the synergy between high-mana-value creatures with cheap alternate warp costs and Scarlet Spider, Ben Reilly. By casting cards like Bygone Colossus or Germinating Wurm for their reduced warp costs and tapping them using Spacecraft stationing abilities, Vehicles, or attacks, the deck casts Scarlet Spider via web-slinging for just {R}{G}. Because web-slinging returns the tapped creature to hand, it preserves the card while placing massive quantities of +1/+1 counters onto the commander. A dense package of low-mana defensive spells—including Deflecting Swat, Heroic Intervention, and Tamiyo's Safekeeping—protects the commander from removal as it delivers lethal commander damage across successive combats. Backup threats like Raph & Mikey, Troublemakers and Anzrag, the Quake-Mole provide alternative combat pressure if the primary plan faces heavy resistance.
