Deck overview

This Selesnya deck centers on Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar, combining a classic +1/+1 counters aggressive strategy with potent card draw and combo finishes. Kutzil provides a built-in Grand Abolisher effect, completely shutting down opposing instant-speed spells during your turn, which allows you to develop your board and execute winning lines without fear of counterspells or removal. The early game focuses on accelerating mana with low-cost dorks and rocks before establishing counter amplifiers like Hardened Scales, Conclave Mentor, and Kami of Whispered Hopes. Once creatures grow past their base power, Kutzil refills your hand on each combat damage step. The deck transitions into a lethal endgame around Turn 5 through massive overrun effects such as Craterhoof Behemoth, Sovereign Okinec Ahau, and Akroma's Will, or two-card infinite combos like Heliod, Sun-Crowned with Walking Ballista and Basking Broodscale with Rosie Cotton of South Lane. Robust protection spells safeguard your creatures as you push for victory.
