Deck overview

This deck executes a high-tempo Temur Voltron and card-theft strategy driven by the partner pairing of Pako, Arcane Retriever and Haldan, Avid Arcanist. The game plan accelerates mana on Turns 1 and 2 to deploy Pako on Turn 4. Pako attacks immediately with haste, exiling the top card of every library, gaining +1/+1 counters for each noncreature card revealed, and creating a rapidly scaling lethal threat. Once Haldan, Avid Arcanist enters the battlefield, all noncreature spells and lands exiled with fetch counters become a massive secondary hand. A low-cost protection suite featuring cards like Snakeskin Veil and Gaea's Gift defends Pako against targeted removal, while topdeck manipulation spells like Memory Lapse and Expel from Orazca actively tuck opposing threats to be stolen by Pako. Combat enablers such as Temur Battle Rage, Aqueous Form, and Moraug, Fury of Akoum quickly close out games through lethal commander damage.
