Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Sam, Loyal Attendant and Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit to build a low-to-the-ground engine centered on Food tokens and lifegain triggers. Sam ensures a steady supply of Food tokens every combat step and discounts their activation cost to a single mana. Frodo uses the resulting life gain to trigger Ring temptations, making him difficult to block while drawing extra cards as the designated Ring-bearer. The deck converts these small incremental advantages into overwhelming board presence through token doublers and converters like Academy Manufactor and Peregrin Took. It closes games through scaling team-wide buffs from Archangel of Thune, Treebeard, Gracious Host, and Blossoming Bogbeast, or through direct non-combat life drain via Mirkwood Bats and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. High-quality Abzan removal and defensive spells such as Clever Concealment keep the deck resilient against opposing interaction.
