Deck overview

This Sultai deck focuses on casting scalable X-cost spells to build a massive board of Hydra creatures under Zaxara, the Exemplary. Early turns prioritize land-based ramp and mana artifacts like Farseek, Rampant Growth, and Arcane Signet to deploy Zaxara on turn 3. Once Zaxara is active, every X-spell generates a free, scaling Hydra token while Zaxara itself taps for two mana of any color, accelerating further plays. The deck leverages high-mana X-draw spells like Pull from Tomorrow, Finale of Revelation, and Hydroid Krasis to maintain a full hand and continuously fuel large threats. Victory is achieved around turns 6 to 7 through overwhelming combat damage, using evasion and overrun effects like End-Raze Forerunners, Skatewing Spy, Duskshell Crawler, or a massive Biomass Mutation, alongside direct life-drain finishers like Exsanguinate. While the deck lacks fast combo lines and unconditional tutors, its high density of interchangeable threats and resilient mana engine provide consistent mid-game momentum.
