Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck is built around Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, aiming to abuse repeated end-step recursion triggers. By deploying low-cost creatures with power 1 or less—such as Virus Beetle, Elvish Doomsayer, Abyssal Gatekeeper, and Tattered Mummy—alongside free sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer and Ashnod's Altar, the deck creates an attrition loop that triggers during every player's end step. This loop empties opponents' hands and clears opposing creature boards within one full table rotation. The deck converts this board control into a win through incremental life drain and token combat, backed by large alternative threats such as Westvale Abbey // Ormendahl, Profane Prince and Lord of the Pit. However, the engine relies entirely on Shirei remaining on the battlefield, leaving it vulnerable to removal due to a lack of dedicated protection and tutors.
