Deck overview

This Gruul Voltron deck leverages Targ Nar, Demon-Fang Gnoll as both a cheap, early commander and an exponential mana sink. The deck accelerates ahead of curve using dense 1-mana and 2-mana ramp spells, assembling Targ Nar on turn 2 and pairing it with trample, double strike, or power buffs by turn 4. Once the mana base reaches 6 to 8 mana, Targ Nar activates its {2}{R}{G} doubling ability alongside support pieces like Two-Handed Axe, Xenagos, God of Revels, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus to threaten lethal commander damage in single swings. Card advantage engines such as Return of the Wildspeaker, Hunter's Insight, and Rishkar's Expertise replenish resources directly proportional to Targ Nar's inflated power. Lacking infinite combos or fast stax pieces, the deck wins through honest combat math, relying on lethal trample damage and burn finishers like Fling to eliminate opponents across turns 6 through 8.
