Deck overview

This deck is a five-color Polymorph Control deck piloted by Jace, Multiverse Architect. The primary game plan utilizes cheap token producers—such as Skrelv's Hive, Grand Crescendo, and Windcrag Siege—as fodder for Jace's −3 loyalty ability, cheating devastating high-mana creatures and planeswalkers directly from the library onto the battlefield as early as Turn 4. The 99 features a potent lineup of game-warping threats, including Archon of Cruelty, Archfiend of Despair, Angelic Arbiter, Serra's Emissary, and Kaervek the Merciless, which quickly lock down opponent actions, drain life totals, and dominate combat. Supported by an extensive package of 2-CMC mana rocks, powerful sweepers like Farewell and Sunfall, and backup polymorph enablers like Proteus Staff and Synthetic Destiny, the deck transitions seamlessly from early ramp into mid-game board control. It closes games around Turn 8 through overwhelming aerial combat damage and punishing tax effects that prevent opponents from stabilizing.
