EDHREC 3.1.1 by LasdalMerzim

Format: Commander

Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Meren of Clan Nel Toth leads a Golgari aristocrats graveyard value deck that sacrifices creatures to grow experience counters and recurs them for value. The primary plan is to grind with Meren and backup recursors (Cauldron of Essence, Sidisi, Hell's Caretaker) while draining opponents with Syr Konrad, Gray Merchant, Jarad, and Cauldron triggers or milling with Altar of Dementia. Secondary paths include Lord of Extinction beatdown and Living Death mass reanimation. Meren is the repeatable engine, not a combo piece; Syr Konrad and Cauldron act as hidden commanders that turn every death and mill into a win. The deck wins through incremental loops rather than fast infinite mana, requiring multiple pieces at sorcery speed.
