smaug by alextorno

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug, Wicked Worm

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Treasure-token storm deck. Smaug, Wicked Worm is the primary commander: it arrives as a burst of Treasures and then turns every Treasure-funded spell into an extra card at the cost of 1 life. Secondary paths are a token-drain combo with There and Back Again, Academy Manufactor, and Mirkwood Bats; artifact-count wins with Hellkite Tyrant or Revel in Riches; and Alchemist's Talent burn. The deck wants to accelerate with Xorn and Goldspan Dragon, chain draw spells, and convert Treasures into either a huge drain or a critical mass of artifacts. It is not a creature-combat deck, and no hidden commander is required; the Smaug token from the saga is just a combo enabler.
