Scarlet Spiderman by user6275655

Format: Commander

Commander: Scarlet Spider, Ben Reilly

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Gruul +1/+1 counters and big-mana stompy deck helmed by Scarlet Spider, Ben Reilly. The plan is to ramp aggressively with a dense dork package, deploy counter doublers like Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, and Doubling Season so every counter lands doubled or tripled, then cast the commander via web-slinging - bouncing a tapped mana dork - so he enters with a pile of +1/+1 counters. The deck wins through overwhelming combat damage: Unnatural Growth and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus double power each combat, Xenagos, God of Revels pumps a single attacker, and Aggravated Assault plus Akki Battle Squad chain extra combat steps. Alternate paths include infinite combats (Aggravated Assault + Xenagos, the Reveler or Enduring Vitality with a board of dorks) and infinite mana into Walking Ballista via Umbral Mantle + Fanatic of Rhonas. It is a straightforward, threat-dense deck that overwhelms through sheer size and redundancy.
