Deck overview

This deck is an Esper spellslinger control strategy piloted by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The primary game plan focuses on establishing early mana acceleration to deploy Y'shtola ahead of curve, then leveraging a dense suite of noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater to trigger consistent life drain, life gain, and steady card advantage. While controlling opposing boards using premier spot removal, counterspells, and sweepers, the deck compounds table-wide attrition through complementary drain and token engines like Liesa, Shroud of Dusk, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Hermes, Overseer of Elpis, and Fandaniel, Telophoroi Ascian. Attacking taxes such as Ghostly Prison and Propaganda protect the player's life total, allowing incremental damage and late-game finishers like Exsanguinate or Rite of Replication to close out the game around Turn 8.
