Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari aristocrats combo deck commanded by Gorma, the Gullet. The central game plan exploits Gorma's static ability, which enters nontoken creatures with additional +1/+1 counters equal to the number of creatures that died under your control this turn. When combined with persist creatures like Putrid Goblin, Lesser Masticore, or Rendclaw Trow, returning creatures enter with both a -1/-1 counter and a +1/+1 counter. These counters cancel out immediately as a state-based action, enabling infinite sacrifices to free outlets like Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder, or Woe Strider. Drain engines including Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Cauldron of Essence convert these infinite loops into an immediate table kill. In the absence of an immediate combo, the deck grinds out incremental value through aristocrats draw engines, token generation, and broad permanent removal.
