Vigilante on the Streets, Wizard Under the Sheets [Budget-ish] by faslrn

Format: Commander

Commander: Casey Jones, Vigilante

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-red spellslinger deck is built around Casey Jones, Vigilante, whose ETB provides a burst of three cards but at the cost of random discard - a trade that fuels the deck's discard synergy and storm engine. The primary game plan is to generate explosive red mana through rituals like Mana Geyser, Inner Fire, and Vessel of Volatility, then chain instant and sorcery spells to build a high storm count or a massive hand size. The win conditions are varied: Ignite Memories for a storm kill, Psychosis Crawler to drain opponents while drawing cards, Lightning Storm for a direct damage finish, or a giant Fateful Showdown fueled by a full hand. The deck leans heavily on copying spells (Double Vision, Howl of the Horde, Dual Casting) and recursion (Past in Flames, Ardent Elementalist) to sustain its turns. While the commander is a strong card advantage engine, the deck can function without her, making it a flexible storm build that can pivot between multiple lines.
