Deck overview

This mono-blue combo-control deck leverages Orvar, the All-Form to turn low-cost targeted spells into powerful permanent duplication engines. By targeting its own basic Islands, mana rocks, and utility creatures with 1-mana instants or buyback spells like Whim of Volrath and Clockspinning, the deck ramps mana and generates massive card advantage. Its primary win condition resolves around assembling infinite mana through duplicated cost reducers like Sapphire Medallion or untap engines like High Tide and Peregrine Drake, subsequently drawing the entire deck via Archmage Emeritus or Aether Channeler to win with Laboratory Maniac or establish a total board lock with Venser, Shaper Savant and Hullbreaker Horror. A dense suite of asymmetric stax pieces including Back to Basics, Cursed Totem, and Weathered Runestone disrupts opposing development, providing the necessary window to assemble its pieces safely.
