Deck overview

This mono-black deck is an archetype Zombie tribal and aristocrat engine commanded by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The primary strategy focuses on deploying early Zombie creatures and tribal lords to establish board presence before resolving Gisa to exponentially multiply creature power. By sacrificing tall or lord-buffed creatures to Gisa's activated ability, the deck floods the board with 2/2 Zombie tokens that gain combat buffs, deathtouch, and menace from lords like Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Lord of the Accursed. Incidental drain engines such as Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel convert token generation and creature deaths into direct life loss, bypassing stalled combat steps. While the deck boasts high creature synergy and dependable card flow via Cryptbreaker and Undead Augur, it relies on natural draws due to zero tutors and features no dedicated protection spells for its commander.
