Deck overview

This Golgari deck is commanded by Meren of Clan Nel Toth and focuses on graveyard reanimation, sacrifice value loops, and heavy permanent attrition. In the early turns, it deploys efficient mana dorks and self-mill creatures to stock the graveyard and build experience counters. Once Meren is established on Turn 4, the deck generates continuous card advantage by recurring utility creatures every turn. It controls the board by looping disruptive creatures such as Spore Frog to negate combat damage and Terastodon or Woodfall Primus to strip away opposing resources. By Turn 6 or 7, the deck closes the game through mass reanimation with Living Death, an entwined Tooth and Nail, or a direct life-drain finish using Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Lord of Extinction. The deck features strong engine resilience and independence, though it remains vulnerable to targeted graveyard hate and exile sweepers.
