Deck overview

This mono-red Commander deck is spearheaded by Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, functioning as an aggressive forced-combat and group-slug engine. Alexios enters as a 4/4 trampler that passes control to each player on their upkeep, untapping, gaining haste, and receiving a +1/+1 counter while being forced to attack a player other than its owner. The primary win condition relies on Alexios rapidly scaling in power to inflict lethal commander damage around the table across multiple turn cycles. To support this relentless offensive, the 99 is packed with anti-lifegain cards like Sulfuric Vortex and Roiling Vortex, combat manipulators such as Agitator Ant and Shiny Impetus, and chaotic permanents like Jinxed Idol. While the deck efficiently forces opponents to batter one another and avoids being attacked directly by its commander, it suffers from thin card draw and minimal protective shielding, leaving Alexios vulnerable to targeted removal during opposing turns.
