[REVAMPED] The Great Game of Pinging Solitaire (Ob Nix B3+) by ZRC

Format: Commander

Commander: Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 57

Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Rakdos storm and burn engine built around Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin. The strategy focuses on accelerating Ob Nixilis onto the battlefield alongside low-cost creatures and enchantments that deal 1 damage to opponents whenever noncreature spells are cast or cards are drawn. Each 1-damage instance triggers Ob Nixilis, growing the commander and exiling cards that can be played immediately. This creates a self-fuelling storm cascade powered by fast rituals, cost reducers, and mana engines like Birgi, God of Storytelling // Harnfel, Horn of Bounty and Storm-Kiln Artist. The deck closes the game in a single explosive turn by burning down all opponents with repeated ping triggers and Grapeshot. Free interaction and redirection spells protect the combo turn, while lightweight tax pieces punish opponent card draw and disrupt enemy countermagic.
