Commander: Sheoldred, the Apocalypse

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black control-combo deck is built around Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The core plan is to land Sheoldred or another draw-punisher permanent, then force opponents to draw through effects like Anvil of Bogardan, Teferi's Puzzle Box, Memory Jar, and Geier Reach Sanitarium. The deck also contains a dense tutor package and explosive mana engines-Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Lake of the Dead, and Bolas's Citadel-to power massive Exsanguinate or Torment of Hailfire. Graveyard reanimation (Reanimate, Animate Dead) provides access to creatures in any graveyard. A secondary stax package (Contamination, Winter Orb, Oppression, Maralen) locks opponents out while the drain effects and life-gain from Sheoldred close the game.
