Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Zombie Aristocrats strategy commanded by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The primary game plan develops an early board of resilient Zombie creatures and mana rocks on Turns 1 through 3, then establishes an engine on Turn 4 with Wilhelt. As nontoken Zombies die, Wilhelt generates 2/2 decayed Zombie tokens and provides steady end-step card draw. On Turns 5 and 6, the deck compounds board advantage through tribal lords like Death Baron, Lord of the Accursed, and Diregraf Captain, alongside mass evasion from Eternal Skylord and Wonder. Game-ending pressure arrives on Turn 6 via wide combat attacks, high devotion drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or mass recursion spells like Living Death. The deck utilizes aristocrat triggers from Plague Belcher and Diregraf Captain to punish sweepers and drain out opponents across 2 response cycles, closing the game on Turn 8.
