Smaug treasures by user3749410

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure-combo deck helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, a 7-drop indestructible haste dragon that creates Treasures whenever it is dealt noncombat damage. The primary game plan is to generate massive Treasure tokens through self-damage synergies (Pyrohemia, Spiteful Banditry) and token multipliers (Xorn, Academy Manufactor), then convert that mana into a win via Revel in Riches, Crackle with Power, or drain effects from Marionette Master and Mayhem Devil. The commander's haste allows immediate attacks, and extra-turn spells (Final Fortune, Temporal Extortion) can accelerate the kill. The deck leans heavily on its Treasure engine for both mana and card advantage, but its mana base is almost entirely red, creating a critical color-reliability weakness.
